PUBLICATION ETHIC
Bogor Hospitality Journal is a scientific journal to accommodate academics in disseminating knowledge in the field of Tourism and Hospitality. Bogor Hospitality Journal is available in print and online (Open Journal System) and is published twice a year in July and December.
The ethic of scientific publication is a statement of the code of ethics of all parties involved in the publication process of this scientific journal, namely managers, editors, best partners, and authors. Bogor Hospitality Journal follows guidelines based on the Code of ethics of scientific publications of Republic Indonesia Science Organization (Perka LIPI No. 5 of 2014). The Code of ethics of scientific publications upholds three ethical values in publications, namely (i) neutrality, which is free from conflicts of interest in the management of publications; (ii) Justice, which gives the right of authorship to those entitled as authors; and (iii) honesty, i.e., free from duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism in the publication. In order to avoid plagiarism, every incoming manuscript is required to have gone through a plagiarism test with the results of a predetermined value (explained in more detail in the plagiarism Check section).

Please sign and submit an ethic statement as part of the initial article submission. A copyright agreement must be submitted before the article can be published. Journal Management Code of Ethics
Journal manager is the responsible person whose duty is to create policies and publication programs, facilitate the work of editors and Mitra Bestari/partners/reviewers, and respect their decisions regarding the submitted articles. The duties and responsibilities of the journal manager are as follows:
- To determine the name of the journal, scientific scope, regularity, and accreditation if necessary.
- To determine membership of the editorial board.
- To defines the relationship between publishers, editors, partners, and other parties to a contract.
- To appreciate things that are confidential, both for contributing researchers, authors/authors, editors, and smart partners.
- To implement norms and provisions regarding intellectual property rights, especially copyright.
- To review Journal policies and communicate them to authors/authors, editorial board, Mitra Bestari/partners/reviewers, and readers.
- To create code behavior guidelines for editors and Mitra Bestari/partners/reviewers.
- To publish the journals regularly.
- To ensure the availability of funding sources for the sustainability of journal publishing.
- To build a network of cooperation and marketing.
- To prepare licensing steps and other aspects of legality.
Editor's Code of Ethics
Editor is a person or group of people who make decisions on the publication of papers, organize the paper’s review, ensure the fairness of the review results, the confidentiality of the paper’s contents and cleanliness from any misuse. The duties and responsibilities of the editor are as follows:
- To meet the needs of the readers and authors
- To strive improving the quality of publications on an ongoing basis
- To implement processes that ensuring the quality of published papers
- To promote freedom to express opinion objectively
- To maintain the integrity of the author's academic track record
- To provide corrections, clarifications, withdrawals, and apologies if necessary
- To be responsible for the style and format of the paper, while the content and all statements in the paper are the responsibility of the author/Author,
- To actively solicite the opinions of authors, readers, Mitra Bestari (partner/reviewer), and editorial board members to improve the publication quality.
- To encourage assessment of the journal if there are findings,
- To support initiatives by reducing research and publication errors by asking authors to attach an Ethical Statement form,
- To support initiatives by educating researchers on publication ethics,
- To assess the effect of published policies on the attitudes of authors / authors and Mitra Bestari (partner/reviewer), and improve them to increase responsibility and minimize errors,
- To have an open mind to the new opinions or views that may conflict with personal opinion
- Not to defend one's opinion, such as the third party’s author that could result in non-objective decision
- To encourage authors / writers to revise the paper and prepare it to be published.
Mitra Bestari Code of Ethics
Mitra bestari is a partner who helps editors to critically examine the substance of scientific work in accordance with their field of expertise. Mitra bestari conducts a closed or open review, checks the accuracy and correctness of data sources and references, the accuracy of concepts, and the objectivity of the contents of the paper and conducts a neutral review. The duties and responsibilities of mitra bestari are as follows:
- To review the paper prepared by the editor and submit the review result to the editor, as a material to consider the paper’s readiness to be published.
- To circumstribe not to conduct an analysis of the papers that involves him/her, either directly or indirectly
- To maintain the privacy of the author by not disseminating the Corrections, suggestions, and recommendations critics, and feedback.
- To encourage authors / writers to revise and improve the paper
- To re-examine the paper that has been corrected in accordance with predetermined standards.
- To review the papers in a timely manner according to the style of the publication environment based on scientific rules (data collection methods, author legality, conclusions, and others.).
Code of Ethics Author/Writer
Writer or author is a person or group who write their thought or the results of researches and development in the form of paperss that have met the requirements of scientific and ethical rules. Duties and responsibilities of the author or authors are as follows:
- To ensure that they are included in the list of authors/authors meet the criteria as authors/writers
- To be collectively responsible of the content of the article includes its methods, analysis, calculations and details.
- To declare the origin of resources (including funding), either directly or indirectly.
- To explain the limitations in submitted research
- To respond to comments made by reviewers or Mitra Bestari in a professional and timely manner.
- To inform the editor if the autors will withdraw their papers.
- To make a statement that the work submitted for publication is original, has never been published anywhere in any language, and is not in the process of being submitted to another publisher.
