Local historical attractions are increasingly recognized as vital assets for cultural preservation and sustainable tourism development. However, many of these sites remain underutilized, particularly in peripheral regions. This study aims to analyze the potential of local historical attractions in Bintan Regency as a foundation for the development of sustainable nostalgia tourism. A descriptive qualitative method was employed, with data collected through semi-structured interviews, field observations, and documentation. The findings reveal that historical sites such as Penyengat Island, the Tanjung Uban area, and Kijang City possess strong historical and cultural values, as well as emotional significance for diaspora tourists and returning residents. Despite this potential, several challenges persist, including limited interpretation and low levels of community participation. The study emphasizes the importance of collaboration among government, local communities, and tourism stakeholders to enhance the sustainable management of nostalgia tourism in the region.
